The cell – an image library

David Orloff (Manager, Image Library at American Society for Cell Biology) on LinkedIn was asking to promote / reference their freely available library of microscopy images and videos, which I am happy to do :

Cell Image Library Reference

I wonder how and when this kind of library will merge with initatives like the virtual microscope into something like googleCell (think google earth or their body-browser, just for cells, down to organelles/complexes/assemblies…).

While at it, Mathias Uhlen has been pushing the frontiers here for quite some time with the Human Protein Atlas, providing a picture of the proteome.
